6th Anniversary + Matilda 159 Domain

Steven and I managed to get away for about 30 hours for our 6th Wedding Anniversary. We couldn’t have done it without our village of friends who took shifts caring for Adam–for that, we are so grateful. I was 36 weeks pregnant, so our goals were to eat and sleep knowing full well that we were staring down the barrel of having two boys under two in a matter of weeks.

We made our way through Bendigo so Steven could get a haircut. What a luxury to wander around the Bendigo Marketplace without a toddler! We arrived at the Radisson at Flagstaff Gardens with enough time for a nap and to get ready for dinner at Matilda 159 Domain.

We enjoyed an incredible wood-fired meal as we reflected on the year just passed. My main dish, the pork belly, was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Dressed Frasier Island Spanner Crab, Prawn Butter, Flatbreads • 45 Day Dry-Aged Porterhouse on the Bone, Smoked Bone Marrow • Braised Pork Belly, Toasted Spelt, Edamame, Trotter Broth

BBQ Hispi Cabbage, Carmelised Onion • Hay Smoked Potatoes, Saltbush, Salt & Pepper • Apple Tarte Tatin, Caramel, Vanilla Ice Cream

We look forward to what Year 7 of marriage brings as we welcome our son, Liam, into our family.
